The Voices of the People Gather to Call for Peace

 

The 2017 Korean Peninsula Peace Rally is being organized out of a desperate wish to prevent a war from recurring on the Korean Peninsula.
South Korea is facing the danger of an imminent war. North Korea continues to develop nuclear weapons and ballistics missiles while the U.S. and the United Nations are intensifying economic sanctions. Also, the U.S. is considering military options against North Korea. The high tensions between the U.S. and North Korea is escalating the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula, the home of tens of millions of people.

 

The 2017 Korean Peninsula Peace Rally is being organized out of our earnest desire to defend peace for ourselves and our families.
Last winter, the people of South Korea worked the “democratic miracle” that amazed the entire world, simply by holding peaceful candlelight vigils on the streets and singing and dancing together. The threat of war we currently face on the Korean Peninsula is formidable. Therefore, we need the voice of all the people of the world who also wish for peace to join us in calling for peace. We must spread this wish for peace throughout Asia and the entire world, so that we can prevent a war and defend the peace on the Korean Peninsula for our families and our children.

 

The 2017 Korean Peninsula Peace Rally is being organized out of the belief that peace on the Korean Peninsula is the cornerstone of world peace.
On December 23rd, we will gather together at Gwanghwamoon Square  in Seoul to raise our collective voices for peace and channel our earnest wish toward making the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, to be held in Korea on February 9th, into the “Peace Olympics” and a global festival for peace. Please, join the ranks of peace!

● Email us at [email protected]  after uploading a picture or video with a message of peace for the Korean Peninsula (#peaceinkorea)

● The pictures and videos you send us will be shown on the main stage of the Peace Rally at Gwangwhamoon Square on December 23rd, 2017.

● Please include the location where the picture or video was taken in the file name. e.g. Sangamdong_Seoul, Dokdo, Haewoondae_Busan, White House_WashingtonDC, etc.

● When taking the pictures or videos, you can freely express yourself holding a self-designed picket sign with your own unique peace slogan.

3. Donation

The 2017 Korean Peninsula Peace Rally is being prepared with donations from Koreans in and out of Korea and from people in the global community who wish for peace. Your valuable donations will provide the first step toward peace.
